What our very own instructors are saying about KidzArt!

I have an absolutely AMAZING story to tell you about my kidzart class. The boy I was telling you about, whose mother volunteers drew something… in color, for the very first time in his LIFE. He's 8! His mother confided in me that he is autistic, but still able so far to function in the school, though she said they have been having a lot of problems this year. He loves the class, and she said they have tried several art classes and he has not wanted to attend….I talked to him one on one, and explained to him that I knew he didn't like colors, and that was fine! He could draw with the black and white oil pastel, and blend them to get grey… low and behold the kid drew the windmill … and it was the most colorful one there. Then, he insisted on giving it to me. His mother told me to take it. Honestly, I think it will probobly be in the top 10 favorite sentimental possessions I own because whenever the world gets me down, I'm gunna look at that picture and remember what I did today.....made an autistic kid who has never drawn a thing in color draw a colorful creation. I cried. It was a major moment in my life, and I'm not being dramatic.
